Today [Thursday] I had hoped to wander around shooting all sorts of pictures, and did so other than it rained all day and made it difficult at times to do so. I was looking for the gondola repair shop and the mask shop in Dorsoduro which I had seen on a earlier trip, and finally found them. Then wandered back to our lodging, caught up with Jackie [who had been shopping] and set off for Rialto and San Marco. We each took more pictures [of course], grabbed lunch [pizza – not too exotic but tasty] and kept wandering.
I’m hoping tomorrow is at least not rainy, so we can have a sunny day in Burano, if that’s where we decided to go [my preference]. It’s not that one can’t shoot photographs in the rain, but there are times images are more attractive in the sun. Oh well, can’t control the weather and have to do the best we can. It is fun to walk around little streets and window shop [or real shop, for that matter]. And the nice thing about being here now is avoiding all the tourist traffic.
